Liverpool - that great city
standing on the banks of the Mersey,
from whence for ages past
men have taken out to sea.
To explore the great wild world.
Or to sail on a ferry boat for
an evening's spree.
To dance and enjoy good company.
Great buildings stand on the Mersey,
from which we can stand and see
for many miles far and wide,
Gazing out towards the Atlantic Ocean,
Where ships sail all over the earth
after sailing to another in a foreign berth.
Trade and commerce have swept
from the port of Liverpool star
of the sea.
Brought in from all over the world
via the ever dependable River Mersey.
Which will ebb abd flow until
the end of time
