When I Went To Liver School...

When I went to liver school, this is what I yearned
for art and math intertwined, combined for happiness earned
fate by my hand can't be formed, although I wish it could
I don't control the winds that toss me, though I wish I would

realize I am the captain of my soul it's true
the hand that stirs the teacup's mine, a brew that's overdue
uncertainty will riddle me until I pass I'm sure
but that brings less of things of which I just must lust for more

eight months have passed waiting for my choices to make sense
in seven days my unknown future becomes present tense
aptitude I'll have to prove, faithfully by my side
and faith is all I have to carry me to the other side.
