I sit in Berkshire a long way from home
I think of the days long ago
When I was young and all alone
To the Liver Buildings I would go

My job in an office on the 6th floor
In a building steeped in the past
L T Finance Co displayed on the door
But secret cells in the basement hidden

The view from the offfice was full and alive
As ships sailed up the river
But in time the only ships that remained
Were the ferries and the IoM ferry

But now it's the shore that's full and alive
With bars and entertainment aplenty
The river the backdrop to the lights and laughter
How long before it turns full circle?
