Moving the goalposts!
Two Eleven-Plus schoolboys meandered slowly up the long Long Lane!
The year was Nineteen Fifty Two. Their faces were etched with suffering and pain!
They each carried a wooden goalpost upon their smart school blazer clad back!
All the way from the LBA, ever onward toward 'The Blessed Sac!'
The boys had forgotten their 'kit' and instead of getting the cane. Again!
The teacher said he would remind them, just 'Who was the Boss!'
As they stopped to rest along their weary way, a passer-by was heard to say,
'What's this, lads? Are you doing The Stations of The Cross?'
