The Boys

They were just lads
Plucky and alive
Strutting and swaggering
Instruments by their side
Did they ever realize?
What they had wrought?
Did they ever fathom?
What would be the cost?
Subdued now,
But the music lives on
Havenít they touched us all?
With words, with the beat
They were yet to be discovered,
Those right-side and wrong-side of the street
Lads from Liverpool
